I'm here to help you enhance the quality of your life and heal past trauma. Whether you or a loved one are dealing with something specific or seeking increased satisfaction and balance in life, its possible to work through issues and find increased emotional regulation.  

As a Registered Social Worker, Somatic Expierencing Pracitioner (SEP) and Certified Expressive Arts Therapist, I can help you navigate through trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, low self esteem, trouble understanding your emotions, relationships issues, grief, loss, separation or divorce.  

Offering emotional relief through traditional talk therapy, I also utilize Somatic Experiencing (body oriented) and Expressive Arts therapies. All of these therapies are designed to challenge negative self beliefs, bring about mindfulness, clarity and self compassion. We will work to heal your nervous system, reveal personal strengths and move you forward as the best version of yourself.

Person-Centered: providing for you, a nonjudgmental, non directive, empathetic therapy environment
 
Strengths Based: exploring and integrating your personal resources and strengths to self actualize, grow and fulfill your potential

Solution Focused: there are exceptions to every problem and through examining these exceptions together we can generate ideas for your solutions

Expressive Arts: working within your creative and imaginative (play) processes to bring about growth, healing and wellness (visual art, movement, writing, music, drama, writing, etc. - no training or talent in art required !!)

Somatic Expierencing: tuning into body sensation and emotion held in the body to bring the nervous back into emotional regulation 

Experiential: utilizing expressive tools and activities to re-enact and re-expeirience your emotional situations

Emotionally Focused: exploring and managing emotions that are causing you harm

Narrative: assisting you in identifying your values, skills and knowledge to effectively confront problems
 
Intersectional Framework: exploring social and political identities and the impacts on your life
 
Person In Environment Framework: exploring individual behaviour in the context or environment in which you live

Choosing a Counsellor is a very personal choice and ideally the match between yourself and your therapist is a "good fit". I fully expect you to have questions and I am prepared to answer them. Once you've committed to a first session you can expect to be greeted by me in my office space, which is on my private property. It will be a casual meeting because it's important to feel like you're easing your way into counselling.

There are big things happening for you in your life so I will make sure you are comfortable, have the opportunity to get acquainted with the room and have the opportunity to ask questions.
 We will move into what's happening for you in your life that has brought you to counselling and in seeking the assistance of a therapist. I will ask you to elaborate on topics we discuss and move into a plan moving forward. 


It is quite common to feel some discomfort or recognize that you feel uncomfortable. This is because facing problems isn't easy and it's taken a great deal of fortitude and determination to address those problems. My hope is that you will eventually feel a sense of pride knowing you've taken the first step in accepting help and take comfort knowing that I will be there to guide you along your journey into self discovery and healing.

Remember that therapy is a process that will unfold over time and that it is difficult to speed up the discovery process of complex issues and emotions. However, with persistence and patience with the process you will see growth and results but, they will happen more like seeds growing in a garden rather than like a home improvement project completed in an afternoon.

At any time we can revisit any concerns and reevaluate the appropriate amount of sessions moving forward. Counselling with me is always client led and you are always in charge of the process. 

***Cancellation Policy: Please let me know 48 hours in advance if you are unable to make a scheduled session. Missed appointments and appointments cancelled in less than 48 hours will be fully charged.
